Visitors and Community

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Jefferson Community and Technical College has six campuses and an extensive eLearning program. The area’s second largest college, Jefferson is the college of choice for most students in the region who choose to attend college in Kentucky.

With more than 70 majors, students have many choices and career opportunities. Whether preparing for a career or to transfer to a four-year program, students enjoy Jefferson’s small classes, caring faculty and diverse campuses.

Campuses     

  • The largest campus is the Downtown Campus at Second and Broadway in Downtown Louisville, which enrolls more than 7,200 students a year. Among its many programs, the campus houses the college’s Allied Health and Nursing programs, Business, Computer Information Systems, Culinary Arts, Communication, Communication Arts, Education, Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Music Technology, and Photography.
  • A second campus, Jefferson Technical Campus, is just seven blocks west and is home to many of the college’s technical and trades programs: Automotive Technology, Criminal Justice, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Electrical Technology, Fire Science Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Plumbing, Visual Communication (Desktop Publishing), Welding, and Wood Manufacturing Technology. The Aviation Maintenance Technology program is offered at the extended campus at Shawnee High School.
  • The Southwest Campus is located in southwestern Jefferson County, just off the Gene Snyder Expressway. The Southwest Campus is home to the college’s Technology and Related Sciences program, which includes Information Technology, Mechatronics, and Engineering Technology. Students also can earn the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science transfer degrees.
  • Jefferson's newest campus is in Bullitt County and prepares students to transfer to university or to the college’s technical programs.
  • The Carrollton Campus has programs in Practical Nursing, Industrial Chemical Technology, and Industrial Maintenance Technology, as well as the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science transfer degrees.
  • The Shelby County Campus has programs in Practical Nursing, Industrial Maintenance Technology and Machine Tool Technology, as well as the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science transfer degrees.

Can’t make it to campus? Consider eLearning.  Jefferson offers a wide-range of courses and programs that can be taken over the Internet. More than 3,500 students a year take advantage of eLearning opportunities.
