Admission Information:
Admission to the program is by selective admission. The application process to the program is open to all qualified students.
Jefferson Community and Technical College

The deadlines for submission of an Application for Admission to the Practical Nursing Program are:
September 1 for the Spring Class
March 1 for the Fall Class
In order to be considered for admission to the Practical Nursing Program, the applicant must submit the following:
- Application
for admission to the College, as well as the PN Program (form
available at
www.jefferson.kctcs.edu,
then select “Academic Programs”, then scroll down to
“Nursing-Practical” and select “Curriculum Guide”. The
application is on the last page of the Curriculum Guide.);
- Official high school transcript indicating that the applicant has or will complete the high school course of study, or a passing GED official score report;
- Official transcripts of post-secondary work completed at other institutions of
higher education (to be transferable the work must have been completed at an
accredited institution and the transcript must be evaluated by the program
coordinator);
- Results of ACT or compass test or equivalent (English 101 and college level math);
- Successful completion of the Medicaid Nurse Aid (MNA) course and proof of
active status on the state MNA Registry;
- Confirmation that the applicant is
not on the abuse registry; and,
- Proof of current BLS/ CPR (Healthcare provider or professional rescuer level) – remaining current throughout the length of the nursing course.
