Surgical Technology

Program Term:  Completion of the Surgical Technology program takes approximately 11 months, following completion of pre-requisite courses.  It is a full-time program held Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Clinical days are on hospital schedules, 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.  Students rotate through each clinical site.  Transportation to and from Jefferson Technical Campus and clinical sites, and all parking fees for clinical sites are the responsibility of the student.

To be eligible for the program:  Students must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or GED, and must have a current CPR card or show proof of certification.  Students also are required to receive medical and dental exams.
