Manufacturing Technology Program
The Wood Manufacturing Technology Program prepares students for a wide variety of career opportunities in the Secondary Wood Processing Industry. Positions that are in regular demand include designer/CAD operator, CNC programmer, machine operator, builder, finisher, laminator, installer, estimator, project manager, and equipment sales.
The curriculum is designed to allow prospective students to choose the best path to achieve their desired goal while providing broad based skill sets allowing for flexibility in an ever changing job market. Students can earn one year certifications in Cabinetmaking Technology, Furniture Manufacturing, & Millwork Technology; a two- year Wood Technologists diploma; or an associate degree in applied science in General Occupational and Technical Studies with an emphasis in Wood Manufacturing Technology.
This program is only offered at the Jefferson Technical Campus in Downtown Louisville at the corner of 8th and Chestnut Street . Students entering this program will need to be proficient in fundamental mathematics such as would be obtained in MA 55 or MTH 100.
