Counselors
Counselors
assist students with the daily challenges of being a college student.
Counselors are available to help new students navigate the admissions
and registration process.
They conduct orientation sessions which
are designed to give new students valuable information about the
college and its programs.
Prior to registration, counselors
also assist students who have been placed on academic probation
or academic suspension.
To contact one of the counselors on the Downtown campus, please
call (502) 213-2138.
For all other campuses, please call (502)
213-4000 or click on the appropriate link below for more information
about each location.
Academic Probation:
-
Students are placed on academic
probation when their grades have dropped below the 2.0 GPA average
required for good standing as a college student.
-
Students placed
on academic probation are required to attend a "probation
conference" or make an appointment with a counselor.
Suspension:
-
Students are placed on suspension
after two consecutive semesters on probation, and failure to earn
either a cumulative 2.0 GPA or a term GPA of at least 2.0.
-
A student who has been academically
suspended may be reinstated after remaining out of the college
for at least a semester.
-
To be reinstated to Jefferson Community
& Technical College, students must make an
appointment with a counselor before the start of classes.
-
Students
are not allowed to register without being reinstated.
