The Student Support Services program has been in existence at Jefferson Community & Technical College downtown campus for over twenty-five years and prides itself in a tradition of excellence in providing a series of support services and activities to 200 selected students. The philosophy of "Trio" is to provide opportunities and equal access to education for persons who for reasons of social, educational, economic or racial barriers must overcome special obstacles to pursue an education.

The Student Support Services Program provides students with academic support that is crucial to a successful college career, but we haven't forgotten the social and cultural aspect that enhances the college experience. This is done through participation in events ranging from plays and Actors Theatre, cruises on the Bell of Louisville to thrills at Kentucky Kingdom. We consider our students part of our family and create unity through cookouts and celebrations. Our suite becomes our students home away from home when they stop by to eat lunch, do homework, use the computer or just visit with each other.
