LOUISVILLE, KY -- Music, dance, theater, art and poetry will come together in a celebration of Middle Eastern culture on April 12, 2007, during the annual Unity Arts Festival on the Downtown Campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College.

LOUISVILLE, KY – An intense competition will take place under the flare of welding torches, the clack of keyboards and the rhythmic pounding of hammers as students from across the state pit their skills against each other in the annual Kentucky-Skills USA competition. |

African-American students honored for academic achievement
|
Twenty-three Jefferson Community and Technical College students were honored March 29 during the annual African-American Students of Excellence Awards program on the college’s Downtown Campus.
“This ceremony is among the most special for the college,” said Dr. Tony Newberry, president of the college, “because we set aside the time to honor students for their hard work, dedication, creativity and spirit.”

Concert showcases student's musical journey
|
LOUISVILLE, KY -- At age 14, Louisville musician Casey Willis got his first paying gig, opening for Johnny Cash. While he acknowledges today that he “really had no understanding of what a legend” Cash was, Willis had launched a musical journey that he will share through lecture and performance April 2.
Willis, with the help of other area musicians, will explore the bluegrass, country, swing, Celtic and Texas-style found in the music performed on fiddle, mandolin and guitar. The performance will be held on Monday, April 2 at 5:45 p.m. at the Student Community Building on the Southwest Campus of Jefferson Community & Technical College. |
