KCTCS Board of Regents approves tuition rate increase for 2007-08
|
VERSAILLES, Ky. – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents voted Dec. 8 to recommend a $115 per credit hour -- including fees -- in-state tuition rate for the 2007-08 academic year during the regular quarterly meeting today in Versailles.

New classes can lead to lucrative spa management careers
|
Jefferson’s program is one of only 4 in the U.S.
There are more than 12,000 spas throughout the United States, with hundreds more added each year, according to the International Spa Association. In an industry with an estimated $11.2 billion in revenue, the demand for leadership is growing.
Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville has become one of only four colleges or universities in the country to add courses directed at spa management. The program was developed as an associate degree program but will pilot in January 2007, with two courses, and grow each semester.

Acclaimed rock musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” comes to JCTC
|
A professional production of an off-Broadway rock musical is coming to Louisville, thanks to the efforts of a pair of professors, who were inspired by the show’s messages and moved by its humor and music.
“Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” starring Barrymore-award winners David Colbert and Petra DeLuca, will run for six nights in November at the Southwest Campus of Jefferson Community and Technical College. Colbert and DeLuca’s production has run in numerous U.S. cities to wide acclaim. |

Travel abroad to study art, architecture of Italy
|

In May, fine art faculty of Jefferson Community and Technical College will conduct a study-abroad program in Italy that will take in the ancient cities of Milan, Venice, Padua, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii and Florence. |
