Jefferson Community & Technical College is official

Consolidation efforts are complete; two-year college is state’s largest
In a ceremony July 1, 2005, on the Downtown Campus in Louisville, Jefferson Community & Technical College celebrated its new status as a single institution. It marked the completion of consolidation efforts for Jefferson Community College and Jefferson Technical College.
Consolidation makes Jefferson the largest community and technical college in the state, and the second largest college or university in the region, serving 13,800 students.  |

College adds associate degree in Biomedical Technology
|
Graduates will fill critical technical roles in burgeoning industry
In answer to a growing workforce need, Jefferson Community and Technical College has developed an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Biomedical Technology. The program prepares students to work in a variety of medical laboratory settings, particularly in research laboratories, which Louisville is actively recruiting to the area.
The degree program was approved by the Kentucky Community and Technical College Board of Regents on June 10. Students can enroll now for the program, which starts with the fall semester.

KCTCS colleges honor outstanding faculty, staff
|
Colleges in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) recently honored 33 outstanding faculty and staff members at the New Horizons awards banquet held May 17 in Lexington.
Established in 2003, the New Horizons Award of Excellence honors one faculty and one staff representative from each of the 16 KCTCS colleges and one System Office employee. Honorees are selected by a committee of their peers for outstanding service to their college, their community, and their support of student success.

Jefferson students named among KCTCS All-Academic Scholars
|
Thirty-two top college students were honored April 26 as members of the 2005 All-Academic Team at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s (KCTCS) fourth annual student achievement dinner in Lexington.
