Kentucky Manufacturing Skills Standards

Kentucky Manufacturing Skill Standards (KMSS) are designed to apply performance or skill standards to various occupations and to award certifications based on those standards. Receiving a KMSS certification increases the quality of Kentucky’s workforce; increases productivity and per capita income; and improves the quality of life.

KMSS qualifying skills include:

• Communication and Teamwork
• Math and Measurement
• Workplace Safety and Health
• Quality Assurance
• Problem Solving
• Blueprint Reading
• Business Planning and Operations
• Workforce Issues
• Workplace Skills
• Learning Skills

KMSS Level I — applies to all manufacturing organizations.
KMSS Level II — applies to high-performance manufacturing organizations.
