Workforce Alliance Training Funds
The Workforce Alliance is a partnership between the Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS) and the Kentucky Department for Adult Education and Literacy (DAEL). This joint venture provides funding for workplace essential skills training specifically targeted to business and industry.
Jefferson Community and Technical College provides grant preparation, project management, an consulting services to employers wishing to upgrade the skills of their employees. The focus of the training and related activities is to upgrade the Workplace Essential Skills for entry and low level workers.
Note: To qualify for Workforce Alliance funds, employees must be paid while attending eligible training activities
Workforce Alliance funds cover:
- 100% of instructor fees, curriculum development, and instructional materials.
- Individual assessments, texts, and supplies.
- Administrative fee (15% of total contract amount)
Workforce Alliance eligible activities:
- Workplace Essential Skills training in:
- communication
- problem solving
- reading and writing
- computation (including pre-SPC math, pre-blueprint reading)
- use of technology/intro to computers
- teambuilding
- time management
- critical thinking
- Job specific, pre-employment training with a goal to hire at least 50% of potential employees after successful completion of training
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Traditional ABE/GED classes on-site
- Assessments associated with the Workplace Essential Skills type of training.
