The WorkKEYS SYSTEM
WorkKEYS is a national system for teaching and assessing workplace skills so that employees are more productive and invested in their work, and employers attract and retain the best-skilled workforce.
The WorkKEYS system includes three components--Job Profiling (Job Analysis), Skills Assessment and Instructional Support--that are linked together with management information and reporting services. The result is a comprehensive approach to job analysis, employee development, and workplace success.
Job Profiling (Profile of necessary skills
identified by employees who do the job)
- Profile skill requirements for specific jobs
- Evaluate job applicant skills and the skills of current employees
- Aid communication between employers and educators/trainers
Skill Assessment (How job candidates performed on the key skill areas identified and assessed)
- Document employability skills
- Evaluate the skills of current employees
Instructional Support (Targeted training to help employees attain needed skill level)
- Customized curriculum to suit your workplace and your needs
- Time and cost effective
Also, in consultation with employers, educators and experts in employment and training requirements, ACT has identified key generic employability skills that are critical for effective performance in most jobs. WorkKEYS critical skills include: Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics, Listening, Writing, Business Writing, Teamwork, Applied Technology, Locating Information and Observation.
Note: WorkKEYS may qualify for Kentucky Workforce Investment Network Systems Funding that will offset up to 65% of the
profiling, assessment and related training costs.
